The Year in Review: Lessons That Built My 7-Figure Foundation
If I had to describe 2025 in one word, it would be Foundation.
This year has been all about building depth not just in my business model, but in how I think, plan, and show up as a leader. Every week has been a layer added to something bigger: creating a membership community for service-based business owners.
When I first shared this idea with a small group of peers, the encouragement I received was heartwarming. It reminded me why I’m doing this.
So many talented small-business owners struggle with marketing, scaling, and growth — not because they lack ambition, but because they lack guidance. Too often, they’re taken advantage of by people selling shortcuts instead of strategy.
I want to change that.
This new community is about creating a foundation, a place where business owners can learn, grow, and support one another with confidence and clarity.
Lesson 1: Build systems before you need them
When I started my first company eight years ago, I built as I went — reacting, patching, and figuring it out.
This time is different. I’m creating systems and rhythms from day one. I’m treating this membership like the seven-figure business it’s becoming, with structure, consistency, and foresight.
That shift has changed everything about how I lead and plan.
Lesson 2: Mindset is the real foundation
Working with my business coach this year has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
It’s validated what I already knew and helped me see what was keeping me stuck.
Running a business, I’ve learned, is 80% mindset and 20% tactics.
The tools and strategies only work when you believe you’re capable of more.
That’s been my biggest unlock this year: how I think determines how I grow.
Lesson 3: Visibility creates connection
I’ve always been a private person. But this year, I started showing up on LinkedIn, on Instagram, and through this very newsletter.
And to my surprise, it’s not scary. It’s energizing.
I’ve received so many messages from people who said my story inspired them to take action, to raise their rates, to build a business that fits their life.
That’s when I realized: being visible isn’t about seeking attention it’s about serving through authenticity.
Lesson 4: Bet on yourself
This year, I stopped playing small.
I let go of survival thinking and started making decisions from the mindset of a seven-figure founder.
It’s a shift from fear to faith. From comfort to conviction.
Because if you want to build something meaningful, you have to trust yourself enough to go all in.
Lesson 5: Patience is part of the process
Personally, this has been a year of slowing down and for good reason.
As I write this, I’m in the final stretch of pregnancy with my second child, due December 26.
Balancing motherhood, business growth, and preparing for a new season has taught me to prioritize what truly matters.
The biggest mindset shift of all: be kind to yourself, and trust the timing.
I don’t need to reach seven figures in a year, I’m here to build a foundation strong enough to last decades.
Looking ahead to 2026
Next year, my focus is on continuing to strengthen this foundation in my systems, in my mindset, and in how I support this growing community.
If 2025 was about laying the groundwork, 2026 will be about building upward — slowly, steadily, and sustainably.
Here’s to strong roots, clear direction, and calm growth.
